Alfred Hockey's season is getting underway this weekend with a game at Medaille. This is the first game fo the year for the team which is in the middle of its tryouts.

Alfred Hockey placed second in the league championship on Saturday Night at the Coke Cola Coliseum. We had the lead at the end of the first period (2-0). There were a few bounces for Lemoyne in the second period and they took the lead (4-2). Going into the third period we know what we needed to do, but we just could not capitalize on anything successfully. Lemoyne scored another goal and won the game 5-2. Alfred had a long hard season and there is just two more games left, the Alumni game on February 23 and on March 1^st vs. Keuka College location TBA.

Alfred Hockey played SUNY Oneonta this past weekend at the Olean Rec. Center . The rink was packed full of cheering fans and spectators. Alfred came out with a great win over SUNY Oneonta. The Score was 8-5. Goals were scored by Brandon Merritt (5), Jay Williams (2), and Jake Amoroso. Alfred Hockey finally clinched 2^nd place in the Upstate New York Club Hockey League for the 07-08 hockey regular seasons. We will be playing Cazenovia College in the semi finals on this Friday February 15, 2008 in Rochester, NY. If we win this game then we will be playing the winner of the SUNY Oneonta /Lemoyne Game. The championship game will be played on Saturday February 16, 2008 at 6:30pm at the Syracuse Fair Grounds. After this game, we will be playing our annual A-State/AU Alumni Game on February 23, 2008 at our home rink ( Olean Rec. Center ). We will have over 12 alumni from 2002-08. After this, our last game of the year will be on March 1, 2008 vs Keuka College at their home rink.

Alfred hockey lost last night against Lemoyne College 11-3 at the Syracuse Fair Grounds. Goals for Alfred were scored by Brandon Merritt, Adam Nash, and Brent Schlegel. Our last home league game will be against SUNY Oneonta on February 9th at 5:00pm at the Olean Ice Rink. This game will determine witch place we will end up in for the play-offs. We are also going to have our annual A-State/AU-Alumni Game on February 23, 2008 at the Olean Rec. Center at 5:00pm. 

         1-27-08

Alfred hockey won their first league game of the semester vs.   Cazenovia   College   17-2 at there home rink on Saturday January 26, 2008. Goals were scored by Brandon Merritt (4), Brent Schlegel (3), Greg Holbig (3), Jay Newman (2), Bill Uldrich, Cheyne Hoag, Jay Williams, and EJ Hildebrandt. Dan Gaede also scored his first goal of his Alfred Hockey Career. There were a few penalties from Greg Holbig and Bill Uldrich. We should be seeing this team again in the playoffs on the weekend of February 15-16, 2008. Our next game is this Friday February 1st vs Lemoyne at the Syracuse Fair Grounds. After that we will have our last home league game vs SUNY Oneonta on February 9th at 5:00pm at the Olean Ice Rink. We are also going to have our annual A-State/AU-Alumni Game on February 23, 2008 at the Olean Rec. Center at 5:00pm.

Alfred hockey continues its season this semester on Saturday January 26th, at Onondaga Nation Arena vs. Cazenovia College. Our second game of this semester is February 1st at Syracuse Fair Grounds, vs. Lemoyne at 7:45pm. Our last regular season home game is February 9th at 5:00 pm at Olean Ice Rink vs. SUNY Oneonta. Alfred will enter the playoffs for the UNYCHL on February 15-16. Also, we are in the works for another Alumni Game/A-State vs. AU this year on February 23, 2008.
